“This is an extraordinary place, the best way to have a genuine Alaska experience even if you are from the lower 48 or elsewhere and don't want to rough it entirely. We stayed in the Raven Cabin and loved it. We went on hikes in the area, saw grizzly tracks, explored the historic Rambler Mine buildings, and generally enjoyed nature and history in a remote setting, returning to exquisite gourmet meals in the historic tavern each evening. It doesn't get any better than this.”

“I spent a week working along the Nebesna Road and stayed at the Wrangell Mountains Wilderness Lodge. It was one of the best stays away from home that I’ve ever had. Mike and Victoria were the most friendly and accommodating hosts ever. I spoke with Mike before checking in and he provided me with a ton of great information I needed to make my week a great one. The accommodations are comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed during our stay. They are a wealth of knowledge on the local area and were a pleasure to chat with. I am looking forward to coming back with my family to share the amazing experience I had here. I can’t recommend the Wrangell Mountains Wilderness Lodge enough!”

“Victoria and Mike went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Stayed there for a work trip and they bent over backwards to make sure we had what we needed for both work and living. We were at the new Mountain Spruce Cabin for 3 nights, and I didn't want to leave! Idyllic setting, flowers everywhere, clean cabins,...we'll be back!”

“Mike and Victoria were great hosts. We were planning on doing a 3 day hike with our 5 month old, but ended up getting 6" of snow. They were able to take our group and dogs and set us up in a great cabin. Their local knowledge of the area is priceless and I recommend a stay.”

“Truly an amazing destination! Within the beauty and serenity of the Wrangell Mountains is a wonderful family owned and operated lodge that should not be missed. Traveling from Indiana to Anchorage with our family, the stop at the lodge, and the trails along the Nabesna Road, were one of the highlights of the trip. We particularly enjoyed the family’s attention to detail and their warm welcome. We stayed in the Alaskan Cabin and it happily fitted our family of 4. The cabin was spotless with all the needed comforts to ensure a relaxing stay. The highlight for us was the spectacular dinner, breakfast, and packed lunch! Exceptional food prepared with pride and love using local ingredients. If you are traveling between Tok and Anchorage, or just looking for a fantastic destination, don’t pass up Wrangell Mountains Wilderness Lodge. Side note, don’t be afraid of the Nabesna Road… it is in great condition clear up to Mile 28 where the lodge is located.”

“If we could give Victoria, Mike and their wonderful family 10 stars we would! We really wanted to get off the beaten path on our adventure to Alaska and 28 miles into the remarkable Wrangell-St. Elias National Park sure fit the bill. Little did we know that we would be welcomed like family and treated so kindly. Before writing this review, I did not read the other understandably glowing reviews. My wife and I arranged to enjoy the "meal plan" and we are betting that the reviews are glowing about the food. It was incredible. The cabins are spotless, the lodge super comfortable and the surrounding wilderness - well, exactly what the doctor ordered. Two nearby lakes, wonderful hiking and the most gorgeous fall colors.”

“Wrangell Mountains Wilderness Lodge is an absolute gem. The location is extraordinary and probably the best point of access to all things Wrangell-St. Elias on the Nebesna Road side of the national park. The team at the lodge go out of their way to accommodate all guests, the food is outstanding, and the knowledge at the lodge and the nearby ranger station re: navigating the trails / points of interest on that side of the park is first class. I would stay here again in a heartbeat; really grateful for the experience at the lodge and in Wrangell-St. Elias.

“After our original plans fell through due to flooded creeks, we were lucky enough to get a cabin at Wrangell Mountains Wilderness Lodge. The cabin was great, the bed was comfortable and we felt very welcome by the staff and their family. It's a beautiful property with great views of the mountains. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!”

“Off the beaten path! Michael and Victoria are down to earth and aim to make the stay as relaxing as possible. My three year old loved borrowing Land Before Time dvds. Getting pizza and beer at the lodge was a nice bonus. Would love to stay again if we’re in the area.”

“We stopped here for 1 night during a road trip and had the best time! Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Michael, Victoria and family were so welcoming! Everything was so clean, and we would absolutely love to stay here again if we are ever find ourselves back out in this direction! You won’t be disappointed staying here!”

“We are a family of 4 with 2 boys and Victoria and her family were excellent hosts. The homecooked meals were incredible (Copper River salmon chowder, moose lasagna, desserts that would rival any 5 star restaurant!) and delivered each day for breakfast and dinner. Lunches to go were tasty and well prepared as well Victoria was super hospitable and answered all our questions and helped with anything we needed. Showering in the wilderness in the cute bathhouse with hot water was a luxury. A great place to stay as a base for day -hiking and fishing in the backcountry of the Wrangell St. Elias park .”

“Excellent! Michael opened the restaurant early for our cold wet hungry family on a rainy day of hiking. The pizza was great, the beer cold. Conversation about the history of the area, and Micheals family and travels was a highlight on our trip. Micheal on the fly whipped up nachos for our 7 year old that made her day. Highly recommend a visit. Thanks for the great hospitality; looking forward to a future visit.”

“Great hosts that bend over backwards to make your stay genuinely Alaskan!!”

“We did not expect it to take as long as it did to get to the Lodge, as it is 28 miles off the main road, and the road had to be taken slowly. However, it took us through the beautiful Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve with a great view of the mountains. The Lodge is very isolated, and off grid, but worth it if that's what you're looking for! Very peaceful. The owners were very helpful in communications, and next door for anything we needed. Oh, and the three family dogs came to visit!”
