Comfort in Wild country

Discover our peaceful haven in Alaska’s mountain kingdom. Find serenity, calm, and miles of wide open parklands, without a weather-dependent air or water taxi, and without the crowds. We offer unpretentious, authentic hospitality in a one-of-a-kind setting that is unheard of in Alaska these days.

Whether you're a first-time visitor or seasoned traveler— we welcome you to our well-appointed log cabins, comfortable yurts, and historic lodge tavern. “one of the best stays away from home that I’ve ever had. Mike and Victoria were the most friendly and accommodating hosts ever. I can’t recommend the Wrangell Mountains Wilderness Lodge enough!”

Frequently asked questions

  • That depends on what you like to do. The tranquil area surrounding the lodge offers incredible scenery and outdoor opportunities year-round. This is a spectacular and rewarding place, any time you choose to visit.

  • We are a family operation with dogs on the property, and welcome children and well-behaved dogs (with pet fee). Parents and dog owners are expected to clean up after those in their care. We have portable Pack N Play cribs along with children’s books and DVDs to lend. We do not have a babysitting service.

  • During our high season (May to September) there are a few holidays with a two-night minimum: Memorial Day (late May), Independence Day (early July), and Labor Day (early September) weekends.
During the low season, October to April, we are one of the few lodges in the park open year-round, we offer 2-night minimum stays.

  • We encourage our guests to come prepared to “unplug and reconnect” during their stay. Most units have a flat-screen TV with DVD player. We do have limited satellite internet available for guests who must stay connected and bring their own device (tablet, smartphone, etc.). Cell service throughout Alaska is spotty and here, in North America’s largest national park, the same applies. Verizon users report good service to mile 18 Nabesna Road; AT&T users, to about mile 15. We do have a satellite phone here at the lodge for emergencies.

We know you have questions about your stay in the wilderness of Alaska. We are here to help!
